As a Member of the Wilderness Rider Program (a combined effort between the U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, and the Backcountry Horsemen of California) he has been trained and certified to speak for these agencies on the topics of "Leave no Trace" and "Gentle Use". Garry has teamed with a known expert in the field of Confident Riding (Martha McNiel, LMFT) to create a series of clinics designed to build confident riding skills and overcome fears related to horses. [Learn more about the Overcoming Fear clinics]

Having ridden the length of California with a pack horse, and with many other packing and camping experiences, Garry has a wealth of stories and experience to educate and pass on to groups or individuals. [Read more about Garry's trip ]

After his trip, Garry started working with The DreamPower Foundation, a non-profit therapeutic horsemanship program dedicated to "Building lives filled with dreams, and the power to make dreams come true." Working primarily with troubled teens and youth with mental, emotional and behavorial problems, DreamPower has the power to change peoples' lives. Garry realized its impact and now dedicates a minimum of one day a week teaching in the program and serves as the Chairman of the Board for The DreamPower Foundation. Garry has been accepted into The Long Riders Guild and has studied the other Long Riders that have ridden in America. He enjoys telling about their experiences in his presentations and discussions. [Read more about The Long Riders Guild]
